Styling a bride’s hair on her wedding day is a privilege for a hairdresser. I’m there for the first peek at the dress, arrival of the flowers and makeup artist’s magic. Wedding mornings unfold with one special moment after another. I work in and around Bedfordshire and have seen a range of local wedding professionals. I hear directly from brides about their suppliers and who, in particular gave great service. Based on summer 2016’s wedding season, I have detailed the ones most commented on.

This dress shop came up in conversation time and time again this year. Not strictly Bedfordshire, but easily accessible. This Milton Keynes wedding supplier stocks dresses size 6-30 and ranging from £65-£599. They are based near the centre of MK and pass the discounts they receive directly onto brides. Discounts, designer labels and hundreds of dresses to try on.

Becky, who runs this Bedford based business, hand makes stunningly decorative bridal bouquets, center pieces and button holes. She offers classic or bespoke options using foam based flowers, pearls, buttons or sparkles. The flowers can be tailored to your colour scheme, taste or include personal touches. I saw brides delighted with their bouquets. A bride told me ”I didn’t want flowers that would wilt. This is so pretty and will last forever”.

I met Rosey while working on a wedding T.V. program in Bedfordshire. Since then, we have crossed paths a number of times and she is a popular supplier. Based in Bedford, she offers a mobile service and visits bridal parties for trials and wedding day. Her make up work is perfect and her calm, happy nature keeps the bride relaxed.

I hadn’t heard about this supplier until this summer, but I have been told that their service is second to none. The pictures on their Facebook page show how versatile they are. Based in Barton le Clay, they provide both classic and modern options. One bride I worked with wanted a classic cake with personal touches and said that she couldn’t believe how amazing her cake was.

  1. Since writing, the Corblimey cake co announced that they will no longer be taking orders for cakes and will be focusing on giving lessons. I wish them the very best of luck. Do you know of an amazing cake supplier? Leave a comment with their details if you have anyone to recommend.
