My Experience

I have been providing customers with colour services for over thirteen years with skills in both creative and natural looks. During my career, I have earned qualifications in advanced hair colour techniques and colour theory. I offer a range of colour services to achieve your desired style.

Colour consultation with skin test

Beautiful hair colours work in harmony with the cut and style. As there are many ways to apply colour, it is best to begin with a colour consultation. Consultations establish the look you would like to achieve. Depending on your wishes, I can advise you on the tones that best enhance your complexion. We can then discover the shades you prefer and design your colour accordingly. A consultation includes:
  • Establishing the most suitable techniques to use
  • How long your colour appointment will take
  • A skin test to check for allergy
  • Structure analysis to prevent damage
  • Current depth and tone of your hair to ensure accurate formulation of target shades.
For the health and safety of my customers, I am required to perform a skin test prior to a hair colour appointment. This is included in a colour consultation appointment.

Hair Colour Appointments at Home

Hair colour can easily be applied in your home. A space in your kitchen is ideal as I require access to water and a work surface. I provide protective covering for the floor. You should have facilities for me to wash out the product, such as a large kitchen sink or a bath. If required, I bring my portable shampoo station with me for your comfort.

Natulique Full Head and Regrowth Application

Colour is applied to achieve a consistent, all over effect. As your roots begin to grow through, maintain your colour with a root touch up appointment. Technical application eradicates the appearance of roots and keeps your result fresh. After application and development, hair is blow dried to reveal results. Recommended every 6 to 8 weeks with a trim.

Application of colour using foil packets for highlights and/or lowlights. Depending on the desired result, foils can be added to different areas of the head. Typically a full head, half head or smaller section. Follied effects give the advantage of soft regrowth. I recommend you have your foils re-touched every 8 to 12 weeks to keep your hair looking it’s best.

Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. In hairdressing, the technique gives a sun-kissed natural look. Colour is painted onto the hair in sections, to re-create the effect of hair highlighted by the sun. To maintain the effect, I recommend having a balayage appointment every 8-12 weeks. A look can be designed with the view to let the colour grow out over longer periods.

Creative Colour

A range of techniques may be required. Creative colour is a combination of tinting, foils, and freehand painting to meet the needs of the style. Creative colouring targets certain areas of the hair with different application methods. Often used to enhance or balance certain haircuts.

Colour Toning

Rebalancing with colour toning is a gentle restorative solution. Sunlight, heat damage and harsh cleansing products all contribute to colour fade. Each shade from the Nauralique colour range is available in a very low strength for Quasi-permanent results. I use these colours for toning highlights and to refresh faded lengths during a re-growth application. Alternatively, you can have a toner applied if you would just like to refresh your style.

Bridal hair colour

To plan the way that you would like your colour to look for your wedding, I recommend a colour consultation several months in advance. We can match up your natural colour and find your most complimentary shades. Natulique is a perfect option for beautiful hair, balanced with your skin tone.   Consider how you will be wearing your hair on your wedding day. Particularly with hair up styles, careful design of the way colour is placed will increase the quality of the wedding day result.   It is a good idea to have your colour applied 2 months prior to your wedding so that you can be sure it is the right look for you and then again, around a week prior to the wedding to make sure the colour looks fresh.
